Sean Cleary was elected to the North Dakota State Senate in November 2022. When the Legislature is not in session, Sean works for the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation as a member of their development team. He previously served on the staff of Senator John Hoeven and Governor Doug Burgum. Sean is an alumnus of the University of Mary and earned a master’s degree in applied economics at UND. He was born and raised in Bismarck, where he lives with his wife Amy, and their daughter, Audrey.
