Kristin Strobel

Kristin Strobel is the Director of State Government and Industry Affairs for Microsoft, responsible for local and state advocacy & lobbying and leading the company’s outreach with both the Republican Governors Association (RGA) and several women’s political organizations (NFWL, WIG and WGR). Additionally, Strobel represents the company in their national engagement with state Attorneys General. Before joining Microsoft, Strobel was a Principal with the BGR Group, a DC-based, bipartisan government affairs firm and is a former state government senior staff member.
She has deep state-based and national experience, both as an Ohio native who worked as the Director of Policy and Legislation for then-Attorney General Mike DeWine (R-OH) and many years of experience working with multistate policy organizations such as the National Governors Association (NGA), RGA, the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NSCL). Strobel also led state and local government affairs for several national trade associations, including the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and the National Association of Professional Employers Organizations (NAPEO).
Prior to her national career, Kristin graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Geography, and her Master of Arts degree in Political Science (American Politics). She remains engaged in Ohio affairs through the Washington, D.C.-based Ohio Society, the Ohio University Washington, D.C. Alumni Association and the Washington, D.C. Delta Gamma Fraternity Alumnae Association. Strobel previously served as the Co-Chair of the Women in Government Relations (WGR)’s Tech, Telecomm & IP Taskforce; serves as an Ambassador on the Youth Leaders Council (YLC) for the Millennial Action Project (MAP), where she advises their team on state legislative policies and engagement; was a 2016 James Madison’s Montpelier’s Robert H. Smith Center for the Constitution’s Emerging Millennial Fellow. In 2021, Strobel was named one of The Advocacy Association’s “Top 21 in 2021” advocacy professionals.
