James Havlock is VP, Business Development & Partnerships at Validere, a Series B energy software company. In his role, he focuses on relationships with private equity, banks, and large integrated companies. Prior to joining Validere, James spent his career at ExxonMobil holding various positions on international projects and within refineries in the US Gulf Coast.

James received his Master of Business Administration at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business where he was awarded the 2021 Vijay, ’77, and Sita Vashee Promising Entrepreneur Award. James graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University where he received the Craig Brown Outstanding Senior Engineer Award and the Buck Weirus Spirit Award.

Outside of the office, James enjoys skiing, running, golfing, and can often be found in the middle of the dance floor. James is involved in his local church and spent three years as a volunteer leader with Young Life College.
